I talked to Video Electronics out of Massachusetts today about getting my camera fixed. Seems like it just needs head cleaning and some tension adjustments. I'm getting that fixed that also getting the playback buttons on it fixed all for 200$. This will leave me with a damn near brand new VX1000 I'll be putting up for sale to buy a DVX100b. VE does awesome work and are the only people I'll trust with my camera, not to mention I'll have my camera back in a week from the day I ship it. So far he has been nothing but helpful and friendly. Even though he is east coast, people send him their cameras from all over the US. Here is his website if you need any camera repair/maintenance done.

Quick update.
Well, I took my camera to a shop today and turns to find out my camera heads are dirty and need alignment. I'm just going to send it away next week to get it fixed for like 150$. then just start a separate fund for a DVX and sell my cam once I save up like 500$ and buy a DVX. Oh yeah, Adam Zimmerman, Richie Menz, Tessa Dotson, and my self will be going to Philly soon to start shooting a film we are working on. Should be dope, Adam does wonderful work. What a bummer.
Well, it had to happen sooner or later, my heads finally got dirty on my VX1000 today. Me and Richie were shooting a movie today and we were out in the freezing cold for about 2 hours when I see a little blinking X on my camera. I've never seen it before so I just ignored it. Apparently that's the sign for "your heads are dirty". I knew this day would come, it just sucks it happened in the middle of filming and we lost 50% of the video we shot today. My options are either new heads for 300$, or get these ones professionally cleaned for like 80$. Either way I have to ship my camera away and that really bums me out because I had a lot of plans for filming coming up. I'm thinking about just getting the heads cleaned, selling the camera, and getting a different camera. I'd like to make my way up to a DVX100, HVX200, or ultimately a HPX170. Richie said I can use his VX2100 whenever I want, but I'm still mad that I won't have my camera for a while. I'm going to go try and buy a head cleaning tape tomorrow after work and see if that gets me moving again for a little bit.

Stupid Vimeo
Ok, so I bought Vimeo plus the other day and it cost me 60$, I bought it because the free account only gives you 500mb a file and 1gb a week uploaded. The plus account gives you 1gb files and 5gb upload a week, plus all these other cool features. Anyway it's a pretty much known fact in the filming world that Youtube videos have shitty quality and Vimeo is the shit, so I felt it necessary to buy the Vimeo account. The problem is, I uploaded the same video to Youtube and Vimeo(The nature edit) and the Youtube version looks better then the Vimeo version, which makes no sense. Whatever, judge for your self.

Nature Edit
Here is the deal...I suffer from insomnia and I only sleep a couple nights a week, and those nights I get a few hours. The other night I downloaded the CD "Parachutes" by Coldplay. Something about this CD just instantly put me in a good mood. It totally inspired me. So around sunrise I put this CD on my iPod, put my headphones on, and went in my backyard to just look for something to film. I was going to try and film a bird or a squirrel. After not finding much in my yard I decided to go grab my tripod and go down to the lake on my street. I ended up being there for about 2 hours just walking around looking for something to film. As I was filming one song really stuck out in my head and I decided to go home and see if I could make an edit from some shots I got to this song. I never planned to make a video or anything, but I had more then enough footage to make one. I wasen't going to upload it or anything but my friend Richie came over when I was editing it and said he really liked it and I should upload it to Youtube. Surprisingly I've heard nothing but good things about the video even though there was no preperation or thought put into it. Since youtube has horrible quality, even when you click high quality, I decided to spend 60$ and a Viemo plus account so I can upload top quality footage. Well, here is the video(youtube version for now).
